Analyzing the Elder Scrolls

Education and Psycholinguistics in Oblivion

This critical view of character development in the game Oblivion focuses on both the process by which characters learn new abilities and the use of skill in language. The educational process has three parts relating to transcendence, the cycle of experience, and the transference of attributes. The discussion of language introduces the mini-game of persuasion, features of the speech model and implications of the speech model.

Plot Synopsis of Oblivion

Understanding Part Four of The Elder Scrolls

Oblivion is a role-playing video game in which players become characters in a medieval-type fantasy with magic and monsters. The plot is basically that a country is in turmoil because of the assassination of its emperor by followers of an elusive cult that seeks to give control to their evil god, who normally exists only in a magical, supernatural space apart from the world, but the imposing threat of his manifest existence compels a hero to emerge among the citizens to defeat him.

Technical Data About Website

The website is now running on a Raspberry Pi with the Raspian linux distribution, which runs the Apache Tomcat servlet container, which in turn runs Pebble.

This blog was running on an old laptop with a Pentium II processor with 160 megabytes of RAM.  It somehow managed to run a "lightweight" linux operating system, which is Lubuntu, and on top of that were Pebble and Tomcat. I installed all hardware and software myself, piece-by-piece, by following google'd instructions from all over the web.

Like a Space Within a Pentachoron

novice player for dance-fighting became a pianist for a girl, who had the color of coffee with cream, so that she would sing softly as he played the chords to accompany her. In the days when he was a student becoming a master (but not a master of dance), he would entertain by improvisation on the piano at a coffeehouse during his leisure hours, and there was unofficially and informally a study hall for the students like him who would work even after midnight. In a sitting there he might consume two cups of coffee, four tobacco cigarettes, and six white pages on both sides all while writing out mathematical equations for preparing his classwork.

Skateboarding with the Music of the Spheres

The goal of this essay is to discuss a philosophy of skateboarding and harmony in a way that is hopefully accessible to skaters. Although I'm not an expert skater, for the sake of credibility I begin with describing the extent to which I have been an amateur skateboarder since more than twenty years ago. In that time I have discovered two important facts: first, skateboarders listen to particular types of music and harmony, and second, skateboarding is actually somewhat of an aggregate of circular motion. In order to explore philosophical themes, there is next a brief digression on an ancient, controversial idea about motion and harmony and also a quick theory about harmony in general. Finally, the discussion leads to the idea of how the motions of skateboarding become harmony inspired by the music of the spheres.
